10 Thing I don’t want for Chrismass

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

This week for writing we had to do Christmas tasks since we are nearing the Christmas season. We had to make a Google drawing and write ten things we didn’t want for Christmas. I really enjoyed this task and it was a bit challenging coming up with ten things I didn’t want.

What do you not want for Christmas?

Holes

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

For the past term we have been reading a book. I chose holes because i have never read the book and never seen the movie. We had to make a create task and answer a set of questions for chapter 1-5, Chapter 10, Chapter 16-20, Chapter 29-35 and Chapter 36-43. For the last task we had to make a missing poster for Stanley Yelnats.  Last week we finished our novel, and I found this book to be cool and interesting.

Here is my slide hope you enjoy!

Acts of Kindness

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

This week for our hubs RE task we had to fill in an advent calendar. In every box of the 24 days you had to write a act of kindness that you will do. Some of the boxes were for things to do at home, School, and on School holidays. I did a wide selection of things that I wrote like making the teachers there favourite hot drink, walking my dogs, And helping my parents out in the house.

What would you have put on your calendar?

My Characters

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

These past few weeks we have been making a book for the little kids at our school. We have had a few sessions of planning our books. We had an author come in and tell us about her books and what she did to make them. She had a book about her dog called Whiskey and there is a book all about him.

My two main characters are Matt Jones, and Jackson Goldstone.

Do you like my Characters?

Should I have added anymore characters?

Mary Fact File!

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

In week 2 our whole hub had to create a Mary fact file. On the create you had to add in her name, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Family members, Significant events in her life, and about the Feast Day. Some of the Significant events in her life She is Jesus ´ mother she also witnessed his Crucifixion.

In total she has four family members and all of them are Saints. After giving birth to Jesus in Bethlehem she raised him in the city of Nazareth and was in Jerusalem at his crucifixion. We also had to include The significance of Mary and the Rosary and What is one of the mysteries of the rosary and you had to write a paragraph about each one.

Do you want to know anything else about Mary?

All Souls and All Saints Day!

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

Last week for our RE task we learnt about All Souls and All Saints day. The All Saints Day is celebrated on November the 1st and all souls day is celebrated on November the 2nd. All Souls day is not a Holy Day of Obligation it is a good idea to attend Mass on All Souls Day though. On all Souls day they make life size papier-mâché skeletons and miniature plastic or clay skeletons are everywhere.

On All Saints Day it is a day that we celebrated on November 1st. We remember all the Saints that have passed away. All Saints is a feast day aware of the lives of the many saints for whom there is no specific feast day during the year.

Do you have any questions?

Vocabulary

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

This week for our Writing activities we had to answer a vocabulary slideshow. This was a really fun and I would definitely do it again. Some of the tasks were match the word or a word challenge. Something new I learned was an idiom For example, if someone says “it’s raining cats and dogs,” they don’t actually mean animals are falling from the sky. They just mean it’s raining really hard.

Here is the link to the slide show I hope you like it

Would you ever want to do this?

Te Reo Basketball

This week for our hubs Te reo task we had to pick a sport from the Olympics and use some terms for that sport in English and Māori. On slides there is a button called mote you can record a short video using your voice. The sport I picked was basketball I used terms that you would say in a basketball game like Thats game, the buzzer beater, and for three.

Here is my create:

What sport would you pick?

The Assumption of Mary

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

This week for our RE we learnt about the Assumption of Mary. This week is a really important day for the Catholic church it was the assumption of Mary. She was ascended into heaven body and soul.

We could pick Create an artwork for Mary, A book for a student in Kākano about The Assumption, A poster/slideshow  about The Assumption, An animation to show your understanding of The Assumption. I went in a group with 3 people and we made a poster.

What do you know about the assumption?

PBL Olympics

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

This week for our hubs PBL we have to create our own medal, touch and mascot. I went for a fire, mountains and water theme. On the medal torch and mascot they all have fire on them. In the ceremony we are going to walk around Christchurch and go to lots of places with the touch. I made these photos using an AI generator on canva.

Here is my poster!

What theme would you have made?
